Alabama Senior Community Opens Doors
The 137-unit property in Birmingham provides independent living, assisted living and memory care services.
Phoenix Senior Living has opened The Bluffs at Greystone, a 137-unit senior community in Birmingham, Ala., amid the challenges to the senior housing industry brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
The developer broke ground on the project in 2017. EDT-THA Architecture provided architecture services and KIRCO MANIX served as general contractor.
Developed on 9.6 acres at 6328 Farley Lane, the four-story community encompasses independent living apartments with 993 square feet, as well as 951-square-foot assisted living and memory care units. Amenities include an indoor pool, wellness center, yoga studio, pub, library and movie theater, among others. Services provided feature assistance with grooming, bathing and dressing and complimentary transportation for group activities, but also physical, occupational and speech therapy. Phoenix Senior Living operates the community.
The property is roughly 13 miles southeast of downtown Birmingham via U.S. Highway 280, just south of a dense retail area which includes The Village at Lee Branch. Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Freestanding ER is 2 miles north of the senior community.
