Affordable Indiana Senior Community Opens Doors

The 120-unit property provides assisted living services in Newburgh. The $26 million project broke ground last year.

Heritage Woods of Newburgh, a 120-unit affordable senior community providing assisted living services in Newburgh, Ind., has opened its doors.

The developer, Newburgh AL Developer LLC, broke ground on the $26 million project one year ago, on a 5-acre site purchased in 2018, according to public records. Horve Construction completed the development, which was designed by Worn Jerabek Wiltse Architects.

Located at 4211 Grimm Road, the three-story, 99,000-square-foot building houses a mix of studios and one-bedroom apartments. Amenities include a recreation room/theater, private dining room, fitness center, library/computer room, general store, beauty salon and barbershop. Services provided cover a wide array of needs, from medication administration to housekeeping and laundry to transportation.

Heritage Woods of Newburgh is 3 miles northwest of downtown Newburgh, just south of Highway 66. Deaconess Gateway Hospital and HealthSouth Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital – Replacement Facility are both within a 1-mile radius of the property.

Gardant Management Solutions operates the Newburgh community. The senior living provider manages a large number of Indiana properties, including a 125-unit affordable assisted living community in Fort Wayne which opened in July.
