American Campus Communities has opened Honors Village, a 1,056-bed student housing community serving the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. STG Design designed the property, which is pursuing LEED Silver certification.

Located in the north district of one of the University of Arizona’s four residential districts, the six-story building includes more than 341,000 square feet. The unit mix includes 824 beds in suite-style rooms for first-year students and 228 beds in apartments with kitchen and living spaces for returning students.

Common area amenities at Honors Village will include indoor recreation rooms, interior courtyard, student lounges and a community kitchen. Honors Village features on-site honors classrooms, collaboration spaces and offices for faculty and staff. Additionally, a recreation and wellness center and campus health counseling services are situated in a neighboring building, as well as a 370-space parking structure.

The property was developed under the American Campus Equity (ACE) program, which provides on-campus housing to universities without using school funds. This opening marks University of Arizona’s first public-private partnership development with the company.
