25-Story Manhattan Luxury Tower Tops Out
Skyline Developers' 18 West 55th Street is slated for completion next year.

The Wilf Family’s Skyline Developers has reached a significant milestone at 18 West 55th Street, a 97-unit luxury residential rental property in Midtown Manhattan. The 25-story building, located off Fifth Avenue, has topped out.
The tower will include 5,265 square feet of ground-floor retail and is slated for delivery in 2025. Construction on the 292-foot tall, 152,000-square-foot building began in April 2023, with a groundbreaking ceremony held in August 2023. Leasing is set to launch early next year.
Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the development will offer a range of high-end residences, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments. The property will also have approximately 10,000 square feet of luxury amenities spread across several floors.
The property will be located on the same block as the Peninsula New York Hotel and near the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park and Fifth Avenue’s luxury retail corridor. Residents of 18 West 55th Street will be near several transit and subway lines and commuter rail options. Area parks and recreation options include Sony Wonder Technology Lab, Central Park Zoo, Damrosch Park, Central Park and Bryant Park, all located within walking distance of the building.
Family’s development roots
Skyline Development was founded in 1999 as the New York City affiliate of New Jersey-based Garden Homes. However, the Wilf family’s and Skyline Development’s involvement in building began in 1954. After launching a quarter-century ago, Skyline was among the first developers to bring luxury residential properties to New York’s Financial District. The company has since expanded to encompass rental and condominium residential developments, along with office and retail buildings across Manhattan. Among its higher-profile properties are ML House at 1050 Avenue of the Americas, and 200 East 79th Street.
