  • Housing Starts Edge Down in November

    U.S. housing starts came in at an annualized rate of 1.028 million units in November, according to the Census Bureau on Tuesday. That’s 1.6 percent below the revised October total of 1.045 million units and 7 percent below the November 2013 rate.

    The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 28 states had unemployment rate decreases in October compared with September, while 11 states and the District of Columbia saw increases and 11 states experienced no change.

  • Gas Prices Pause in Upward March

    Gas prices did something a little unusual over the weekend: they went down slightly. According to AAA, Saturday's national average was down a 10th of a cent per gallon compared with Friday, and Sunday's average was down a bit more compared with Saturday, from $3.78 to $3.777 a gallon.
