Stiles’ and Greystar’s One Plantation Awarded LEED Certification
Stiles and Greystar have announced that their recently completed, 321-unit community One Plantation has been awarded LEED Certification by the United States Green Building Council.

Plantation, Fla.—Stiles and Greystar have announced that their recently completed, 321-unit community One Plantation has been awarded LEED Certification by the United States Green Building Council.
The community, which opened its first and second towers in April and July of this year, respectively, earned its certification for its achievement in high-performance sustainable site development, water and energy efficiency, and indoor air quality. It was developed by Ft. Lauderdale-based Stiles and is managed by Greystar.
“As the first LEED certified luxury apartments community in Broward County, our residents can take advantage of all of the benefits associated with living in an eco-friendly community,” says Stiles Residential President Jay Jacobson. “With the help of Spinnaker Group, our LEED consultants, and Cohen Freedman Encinosa & Associates Architects, we were able to blend a variety of sustainable building materials and practices with a modern design.”
Within the one-, two- and three-bedroom units, the community’s green offerings include programmable thermostats, low-emissivity impact windows, energy-efficient lighting, Energy Star appliances and low-flow water fixtures. This of course complements appropriately with staple features of modern design, such as espresso wood cabinetry, granite countertops with under-mounted sinks and high 9- to 10-foot ceilings.
“With One Plantation, the newest member of the LEED family of green buildings, we are one step closer to USGBC’s vision of building sustainable living environments that are beautiful and functional,” says Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair of the U.S. Green Building Council. “This building is an important addition to the growing strength of the green building movement.”
Among its resort-style amenities, such as a community clubhouse, state-of-the-art fitness center, gaming room, theater, coffee bar, executive business center and a roof-top terrace, the community’s green attributes include vehicle charging stations, reserved parking spaces for fuel-efficient vehicles and convenient bicycle storage.
Other exterior highlights at One Plantation include tennis and basketball courts, swimming pool and spa, an outdoor billiards table and a sun deck, as well as a children’s playground, recreational green spaces, a dog park, waterslide and walking trails.
