In a press release recently issued by Vulcan Real Estate, the company announced that it has broken ground on a massive residential development. Dubbed The Martin, the 24-story luxury apartment tower will be located in the Denny Triangle area, a part of the city that is the site for Amazon.com’s giant expansion plans.
Developed at the northwest corner of 5th Avenue and Lenora Street, The Martin will ensure easy access to public transport as well as proximity to downtown shopping and entertainment venues. Upper-floor residents will have benefit from views of the city’s skyline, Puget Sound and Lake Union. In addition to being very close to Amazon’s forthcoming development, The Martin will easily cater to professionals working in the ever-expanding South Lake Union.
The team handling development is comprised of general contractor Exxel Pacific, Inc., architect Callison, interior designers Robin Chell Design, landscape architects Brumbaugh & Associates, structural engineers CKC and civil engineers Couglin Porter Lundeen, the press statement pointed out. The Martin will feature a total of 188 high-end apartment units with stainless steel appliances and tiled backsplashes, as well as in-building amenities like four floors of above-ground parking, fitness facilities, community room, a common roof deck, as well as a conference room and media room.
A LEED-NC Silver certification is currently being sought by the developer. The building’s green design and the high-efficiency heating and cooling fixtures, it will ensure the capture of more natural light, offers efficient water fixtures, and is being built with eco-friendly materials. The press release also mentions the fact that completion for the building is projected for fall 2013.
