Toll Brothers, Ares Break Ground on Upscale Student Housing Community

Toll Brothers Campus Living, a subsidiary of Toll Brothers, Inc., together with its joint venture partner, Ares Management, L.P., broke ground last week on a new, upscale student housing community in College Park. Called Terrapin Row, it will serve the students of the University of Maryland.

Toll Brothers Campus Living, a subsidiary of Toll Brothers Inc., and joint venture partner Ares Management L.P. broke ground last week on an upscale student housing community in College Park. Called Terrapin Row, it will serve the students of the University of Maryland.

Terrapin Row will be located on Knox Road, alongside the University of Maryland’s College Park campus. It will consist of two apartment buildings and three townhouse building, and will offer a total of 418 apartments, with 1,493 beds.

Terrapin Row will also feature a parking garage with 489 spaces, study rooms on every floor, the largest state-of-the-art fitness center in College Park, and various courtyards offering a volleyball court, outdoor kitchen, outdoor TV viewing area, sauna and resort-style swimming pool.

Toll Brothers Campus Living, the student housing development division of Toll Brothers, is one of the nation’s leading builders of luxury homes. In a news release, Charles Elliott, managing director for the student housing company, said it intends to develop a community that ”understands the student lifestyle and connects with campus.”

Clark Builders Group is the project’s construction manager. The community is scheduled to open for students in the fall of 2016.
