Mary L. Green, a resident of The Chapman for the past four years, says she loves where she lives. She enjoys going for walks with her black and white shih-tzu named Tully. “I’m 82 years old,” she says laughing. “But I feel like I’m 60!” The retired hairdresser loves to spend time on the terrace in the evenings. “I don’t think I’ve met anyone here who I wouldn’t be friends with.”

When asked about why she chose this particular apartment community, Green says, “My husband and I didn’t live too far from The Chapman. We happened to see it being built and we kept an eye on it during construction.” Toward the end of the building process, Green and her husband visited the leasing office to inquire about apartments. The couple decided to lease a two-bedroom, two-bathroom floorplan called the Harmony. They lived on the fourth floor—a top-floor apartment.

“We both liked the layout,” adds Green. “I like the security here, too, and it’s very quiet.” The community’s handicap accessible design made it possible for Green and her husband to live on the fourth floor during his final years. She adds, “I love the staff. I think they would do anything for me.”

According to The Chapman’s property manager, Raffaele L. Allen, CAM, “Our most effective marketing tool for resident retention is our onsite staff and maintenance team. We strongly believe that residents and prospective residents rent people—not apartments. Through exceptional customer service, our retention efforts exceed expectations. We also provide concierge services and sophisticated resident socials like wine tastings and quarterly art gallery openings that make residents feel like they’re part of the community instead of just another name on a piece of paper.”
