The Arbors Apartments Open on White Marsh Boulevard

Earlier this month, The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads, the newest and most modern apartments in Eastern Baltimore County, officially opened on White Marsh Boulevard. Kevin Kamenetz, Baltimore County Executive, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with principals from Somerset Construction Company, Bozzuto Management and St. John Properties.

The 356-unit luxury apartment building is the newest and most modern in Eastern Baltimore County. It is part of the 1,000-acre Baltimore Crossroads @ 95 mixed-use development located along Maryland Route 43 between White Marsh and the Middle River waterfront. The Crossroads @ 95 development includes office space, retail, and residential properties, with two hotels planed for the future.

The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads was developed by Somerset Construction Company and managed by Bozzuto Management. It is designed in a “Texas Doughnut” configuration which consists of apartment homes built around a six-story parking garage, allowing residents to park and live on the same level in the building.

Twenty-three different apartment designs are available in one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans, with monthly rental fees ranging from $1,100 to $2,000. There will be 212 one-bedroom units ranging from 510 to 920 square feet, 131 two-bedroom models with sizes ranging from 1,080 to 1,277 square feet and 22 1,565-square-foot,  three-bedroom apartments. The luxury apartments include granite counter tops, solid wood maple cabinets, designer lighting and an upgraded stainless steel appliance and fixture package. There’s also a media room with a 110-inch television screen, a clubroom with pool tables, a Zen garden, a play area for dogs, a pool, a fitness center and a business center with computer access.

The building is LEED silver certified but the project is on schedule to achieve gold certification. It includes energy-efficient heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) and hot water systems, low-flow plumbing fixtures and Energy Star appliances designed to significantly reduce monthly water, gas, and electric bills. The building also includes a 350-solar panel roof and electric car charging stations in the parking garage.

The project has been under construction for two years. One hundred units are already finished; 72 units have been leased, and 50 people have already moved in. The project brought 400 construction jobs to the area and is expected to be finished in April 2012.
