Chicago—RMK Management Corp. has announced that leasing has begun at Central Station, a new luxury community near the Central Street Metra station in Evanston, Ill.

“Selecting top-tier development locations is a hallmark of RMK and Central Station certainly lives up to that,” Diana Pittro, executive vice president of RMK Management, tells MHN. “Central Station is in proximity to the quaint boutiques and restaurants along Central Street, plus it’s just one block from a Metra stop and less than a half mile to a CTA Purple Line stop. It’s also within walking distance of Northwestern University’s Ryan Field, Evanston Hospital and numerous parks and recreation activities, such as Lake Michigan and Gross Point Lighthouse Beach, which are just one mile from Central Station’s front door. There’s nothing else like it in the area.”

Central Station, a four-story, mixed-use community, includes 80 apartments, 81 parking spaces and more than 10,700 square feet of retail space. The units range from studios to three-bedroom/two-bathroom apartments, and rents start at $1,415 a month. The apartments include stainless steel Energy Star appliances, quartz countertops, hardwood flooring in the living and dining areas, a computer niche and full-sized washers and dryers. Additionally, many of the apartments include a Juliette balcony or patio.

Amenities for the LEED-certified community include a fitness center; cyber lounge with coffee bar, computers and printers and several seating areas; outdoor terrace with a green roof; bicycle room; dry cleaning drop-off service; and free Wi-Fi. Residents will also have access to a Zipcar, which will be kept in the garage.

“One reason Evanston is so desirable for residents is that there are very various distinct neighborhoods and shopping districts, each with their own flavor and set of benefits,” Pittro says. “Central Station stands out as the only new-construction rental development in the north Evanston area/Central Street neighborhood. For residents looking for a new apartment with luxury finishes, top-of-the line amenities and premier conveniences in this area, there is no better choice than Central Station. But it’s not just what’s inside Central Station that makes it unique for this area, it’s the address itself.”
