Product Spotlight on Marvin Ultimate Multi-Slide Door
- May 19, 2016
Large windows and doors are one of the most coveted features in apartment design: they let in light and open up the perceived square footage of the space. Marvin Windows and Doors has long capitalized on the value of natural light and panoramic views with its Ultimate Multi-Slide Door, a popular option for everything from a patio entrance to a dramatic wall of doors that bring the outdoors in.
Now, Marvin has added an innovative new technology feature to its doors that is especially fitting for large multifamily spaces. The introduction of Sliding Door Automatic Control (SDAC) makes it possible to open and close large doors from a distance via a wall switch or remote control. “[Consumers] desire an easy way to open up a home to the outdoors. This solution marries the classic craftsmanship of our Ultimate Multi-Slide Door with cutting-edge automation technology,” said Christine Marvin, director of marketing at Marvin Windows and Doors.
The new feature is available on all four Ultimate Multi-Slide Door models (bi-parting pocket, bi-parting stacked, uni-directional pocket, and uni-directional stacked), increasing options for spaces that open to the outdoors when desired, but keep the elements out when needed.
Marvin assures customers that its doors are as functional as they are striking: the SDAC option is installed by a professional and a battery-powered wireless motion sensor is included for safety. The doors are ADA-compliant and have a multi-point lock for increased security. According to the company, the Ultimate Multi-Slide Door is the “only door on the market today that can meet a 0.28 U-factor with IG dual pane glass—an industry-leading energy efficiency standard.”
