PN Hoffman Plans to Bring 108 Condos to D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront

PN Hoffman announced on July 9 its plans to redevelop the St. Augustine’s Church site in Washington, D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront neighborhood. The project will deliver a new church facing Maine Avenue, as well as a new condominium building right next to it.
Called 600 Water Street, the new residential building will house 108 condo residences. It will have 105,000 square feet of space on four floors, and will include penthouses with terraces. The project also calls for the construction of below-grade parking, with spaces for 94 vehicles.
600 Water Street will also feature a landscaped courtyard with fountains, as well as a residents’ club room with a bar and kitchen. Residents will also have access to the restaurants and entertainment venues on D.C.’s waterfront, as well as the numerous neighborhood amenities provided by The Wharf, a 24-acre, $2 billion mixed-use development under construction nearby. Both 600 Water Street and The Wharf share a developer in PN Hoffman.
“We are excited about working with the Church to reposition it for generations to come and creating new luxury residences for The Wharf neighborhood,” said Monty Hoffman, founder & CEO of PNH, in a statement for the press. “These residences will join the well-established and desirable Southwest neighborhood in embracing a new and serene 3.5-acre park setting adjacent to the water. This neighborhood will enjoy an easy stroll along the shoreline to the more activated community of the Wharf between Seventh Street and the timeless Fish Market.”
PN Hoffman did not announce the cost of the project or when it will break ground. However, the company did say in a news release that it hopes to receive all the necessary permits for the project by late July. Construction on 600 Water Street is expected to take 20 months, with condo sales scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2015.
