Peak Campus to Manage MS Student Housing
- Mar 09, 2018
Student housing operator Peak Campus has been tabbed to manage Haven12. The 536-bed student housing community, developed by Haven Campus Communities, serves students at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Miss.
“The timeline of a transition is always a challenge, and assuming management in March means that there are only two months left in the school year to maintain high traffic and leasing numbers,” Peak Campus chief operating officer Casey Petersen told MHN.
“However, our operational platform has the extensive resources to ensure that we execute a successful leasing and marketing plan on day one to maintain strong leasing velocity through the remainder of the lease-up. This ensures we don’t lose valuable time as we establish a great first impression with residents, onboard new team members, and enact our customer service plans and initiatives.”
A number of factors led to the decision to have Peak Campus manage Haven 12 in Starkville.
“Peak’s operating platform focused on operational excellence, ability to mobilize quickly, leasing and sales track record, our customer service focus, and our relationship with our clients,” Petersen said.
“We were able to engage our resources, specifically our dedicated transition team, extremely quickly which eliminated a lot of the early issues that arise in transitions. Peak, too, has a great existing relationship with Haven as an ownership group, and in all of this they continue to provide an amazing level of support to us within our management role.”
The community features 152 units, divided among two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans, all with private bathrooms. Among the features of the fully-furnished units are open floor plans and lofted ceilings. Each includes full-size washer-dryers.
Common-area amenities include a resort-style pool, cabana-style covered outdoor kitchen and TV area, hammock garden, outdoor bocce ball and horseshoe courts. The clubhouse features a fully-equipped fitness center, study lounges with smart TVs, coffee bar, game lounge, tanning booth and business center.
“Peak Campus is excited to establish a presence in Starkville. We look forward to serving the Mississippi State University students and parents with our platform and world-class resident experience,” said Bob Clark, CEO at Peak Campus.
