Savannah, Ga.—The Hue, a new-construction student housing property developed by St. Petersburg, Fla.-based University Housing Services, is approaching completion in time for the next school semester in September. Recently the developers added another amenity: a rooftop deck not only good for sunning and other recreational activities, but also including seating for studying.

The Hue is located near the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) and will feature 446 beds for students. Construction on the property, which is owned by Atlanta-based Stonemont Financial Group, began in August 2013.

In addition to the designed-for-students rooftop deck seating area, the Hue will sport a resort-style 25,000-gallon lounge pool, exterior decks on each apartment, a fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights, 24-hour clubhouse, business center, and a resident gallery space. Cable and high-speed Wi-Fi will be no extra charge.

The Hue will offer a variety of floor plans, including studios, two-, three- and four-bedroom suites, and three-bedroom townhouses with river waterfront views available. The property’s location offers access to the Bee Line and the nearby river waterfront, trolley, community gardens, bookstore, museum and more. The Bee Line is the bus transit system associated with SCAD.

SCAD is a relatively new institution, founded only in 1978, but has grown considerably in recent years. Currently, the enrollment is about 10,400 students. Most of its students live off campus.
