New Luxury Minneapolis Apartment Lures Young Professionals

Minneapolis—People looking to rent luxury apartments are no longer required to live in major metropolises like New York, Chicago and Miami. Now, especially because young professionals in their 20s and 30s can no longer afford to buy houses right away and are instead looking to rent, luxury multifamily communities are being developed all over the country, and developers are aiming to catch the eyes of these potential renters. One example includes the Nicollet Building, a 33-story high-rise in Minneapolis—the first new high-rise building in that area in nearly 30 years.
The Nicollet Building, which is developed by Opus Development Corporation, will offer a “New York-type” experience, an Opus representative tells MHN. “The building will feature elements similar to those in larger cities that are not currently available in existing buildings in downtown Minneapolis.”
Amenities include a 24/7 doorman; fitness center; yoga studio; private theater; outdoor roof terrace with a pool and spa; outdoor fire pit and grills; and a dog play area.
The Nicollet building is located at the corner of Nicollet Mall and is located in the center of the city.
The building is designed with several green elements. “This residence will be the first LEED high-rise rental in the Twin Cities,” says the Opus representative. “Sustainable building practices and materials will be used to meet the expectations of today’s discerning renters.”
Additionally, the building aligns with the city of Minneapolis’ sustainable vision to offer high-density and transit-oriented development, because it offers service-based retail on the ground and skyway levels, and restaurant and skyway connections to Neiman Marcus.
“Renters will likely include young professionals, empty nesters and people looking for a high-end rental experience,” the Opus representative says.
