New Jersey Apartment Association Hosts 1,000 Less Fortunate Children at Annual Holiday Party

By Anuradha Kher, Online News EditorMonroe Township, N.J.–For the eleventh consecutive year, the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) hosted its Annual Children’s Holiday Party with over 1,000 less fortunate children at the Meadowlands Racetrack. The children enjoyed a day of fun and entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus with toys for all. The party is the result of outstanding efforts made by multifamily property owners, apartment community staff, and related businesses that hold toy drives and donate a their time and resources in planning and volunteering at the event. Over 40 member companies hosted toy drives at apartment communities and office buildings around the state with more than 1,500 toys collected for the children. “It was a heart warming day,” says event co-chair Mary Louise Richards of The Kamson Corp. “Many of these children don’t get to experience what other kids do during the holidays. Our annual parties make the season a little brighter for each of them.” Many NJAA members participate on the day of the event by entertaining the children, serving lunch and helping Santa Claus give out toys. Participating schools included: The Brownstone School, Children’s Day Nursery Family Center, Children’s Specialized Hospital, Hillcrest School, North Ward Center, PS 15, PS 24, PS 29, PS 33, PS 38 and Urban Crisis Daycare Center.
