Charlotte’s premier office destination is bound to get a new building. Bissell started construction on a new office building in Ballantyne Corporate Park speculated to reach over 280,000 square feet.
The Brigham Building is located at 11625 North Community House Road in Charlotte and was named in memory of Dr. Craig Brigham. The ten-story project is built to LEED Gold specifications and will feature a two-story lobby, glass exterior curtain walls and provide free structured parking.
“The timing is ideal to increase office inventory in Ballantyne,” mentioned Smoky Bissell, chairman of Bissell. “We continue to invest in Charlotte because we believe in our city’s ability to attract and retain strong businesses.”
The building will be part of the 535-acre master-planned business community, Ballantyne Corporate Park, home to more than 300 companies including Fortune 500 and Fortune 700 Headquarters. The Park currently features more than four million square feet of Class A office space and is zoned for 6.5 million square feet of office space, medical office, restaurants, residential units, and hotels.
Further actions of the real estate company include plans for the next phase of speculative development on the east side of Ballantyne Corporate Park. A campus of three ten-story buildings and one six-story building, totaling more than 900,000 square feet, as well as a 150-room hotel with event space are planned for the next step in the development process.
Architecture firm LS3P Associates was assigned to design the project whereas general contractor Rodgers Builders is in charge of construction. Bissell Development will oversee the project. The Brigham Building is set for completion by November 2016.
