Millennium Hotel Durham Is Ready for a Multi-Million Makeover
- Sep 24, 2015
A $10.8 million renovation project is about to start this winter for the Millennium Hotel Durham. The upgrades come as part of a multi-million dollar investment program by Millennium Hotels and Resorts across many of its 14 North American properties.
After upgrading five other Millennium-branded hotels throughout the U.S. in the last two years, Millennium Hotels and Resorts eyed their Durham location for an overhaul. Located at 2800 Campus Walk Avenue, the hotel offers 316 guest rooms and a range of amenities such as meeting and exhibit space, fitness center or exclusive business center. The overhaul is scheduled to be completed by spring 2016.
“Millennium Hotel Durham’s proximity to one of the best universities in the United States makes it a unique and exciting place to visit,” said in a prepared statement Colin Wang, vice president operations, North America. “We look forward to unveiling this renovated property in 2016.”
Renovation plans include upgrading the rooms with a modern look, new furniture, carpets and new bathrooms. Public areas and the building exterior will also undergo a refresh with new carpeting, lighting and furniture.
The Millennium Hotel Durham is located nearby one of the world’s largest research parks, Research Triangle Park, as well as minutes away from Duke University and Duke University Hospital.
