Mike Patellis Named 2008 RAM of the Year

Patellis is the founder of Patellis Property Management Co., headquartered in Marietta, Ga., and is one of few property managers to receive the advanced RAM designation.RAM is a NAHB-run comprehensive educational program offered to property managers of market rate and affordable apartments, condominiums and cooperative housing.“Mike is an outstanding RAM instructor and he has co-authored the RAM textbook,” says Henry Dubro, a property manager at Douglas Elliman Property Management, who was the 2007 RAM of the Year and who is currently co-writing the advanced RAM course for finance with Patellis. “For him, this designation means recognition by his peers for the work that he’s done on behalf of RAM and the affordable property management industry.”The annual RAM Professional of the Year award is given to a property manager who holds the RAM educational designation and has excelled professionally. Candidates must have at least two years experience in the field, take more than 40 hours of coursework, pass one of the industry’s most comprehensive exams, commit to following the highest standard of professional ethics and pledge to keep their designations current by continuing their education.Patellis is a certified instructor of RAM programs and is co-author of Residential Property Management. He serves a regional manager of 16 Class-A multifamily communities and has also served as the primary contract instructor to the United States Department of Defense, offering the RAM curriculum to managers of military housing.
