LandSouth Begins Construction on $20M Senior Community

Fort Myers, Fla.—Jacksonville-based contractor, LandSouth Construction, recently announced the commencement of construction on American House, a $20 million luxury senior living, assisted living and memory care community in Fort Myers, Fla. American House will be developed by Redico of Southfield, Mich., and managed by American House Senior Living Communities. PQH Group is the architect of the 121,964-square-foot project.

Located at 14131 Metro Parkway, the future community will provide easy access to several Southwest Florida attractions, including CenturyLink Sports Complex, South West Florida International Airport and Florida Gulf Coast University. The Tuscan-style three-story building will consist of 20 memory care residences, 39 independent living units and 65 assisted living residences, totaling 124 units with an average of 557 square feet per unit. Amenities include a health club with an exercise room with cardiovascular and resistance weight machines, a beauty salon with spa and massage room, and an outdoor swimming pool with lounge areas. Additionally, units will feature European cabinetry and quartz countertops.

Having built American House’s three-phase community in Bonita Springs we understand how their vision embodies a true a senior living campus,” said James Pyle, LandSouth’s president and CEO, in a prepared statement.

Over the last 18 years, LandSouth Construction has completed more than 12,000 multifamily units, including apartments, hotels, senior living, condos and townhomes. The company is currently working on apartments and mixed-use developments throughout the Southeast. The American House in Fort Myers is scheduled to open in February 2018.
