JW Marriott San Antonio Gets an Upgrade
- Aug 12, 2015
JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, the city’s TPC resort and the home of the Valero Texas Open golf tournament, has announced new plans for expansion.
The upgrade, estimated at $16 million, includes both its world-class River Bluff Experience and its meeting/convention space. The project is scheduled to begin in September 2015 with completion date set for spring 2016.
The River Bluff Water Experience will receive a beach-entry gradual slope swimming pool complete with two new body slides, one with a 60-foot drop. Furthermore, 230 poolside lounge chairs and multiple cabanas will be added around the pool area. The new development won’t affect the water facility. Guests will continue to have access to a beach-entry large activity pool, a children’s pool with toddler-sized slides, a restorative adult pool with an infinity edge over the Hill Country views, hot and cold plunge pools and whirlpools.
Known as the largest customizable hotel, convention, meeting and event space in the Texas Hill Country, JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa intends to maintain its reputation. In the thick of the 600 acres of natural landscape, a new 13,000-square-foot standalone ballroom will increase the resort’s total event space to 278,000 square feet. The ballroom and the event lawn will provide venues for any size and type of meeting all year round.
“The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa is dedicated to offering our guests a warm heart welcome with unique and best in class experiences and premium amenities,” said Arthur Coulombe, general manager, JW Marriott San Antonio. “Our southwest San Antonio climate enables travelers to enjoy our River Bluff Water Experience the great majority of the year while our Texas Hill Country attentive culture reflects in our hospitality. We are thrilled to offer additional recreation space to our leisure guests and multiple flexible meeting and entertainment options to our group customers.”
