Investment Volume Dips in 1Q

While investment in U.S. real estate finished off strong in 2017, reaching $123.2 billion in the fourth quarter, volume was down in the first quarter of 2018, hitting $103.8 billion as of March 31, according to Real Capital Analytics data. The first-quarter volume was a slight improvement from the $102.4 billion achieved in first-quarter 2017. By region, investment activity in the first quarter was down in all major regions aside from the Northeast, which had a flat volume of $18.9 billion.
