Bordeaux, France—InterContinental Hotels Group continues to expand its portfolio adding its sixth InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts property in France.
InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand will join InterContinental® Paris – Le Grand, InterContinental® Paris – Avenue Marceau, InterContinental® Marseille – Hotel Dieu, InterContinental® Carlton Cannes and most recently InterContinental® Lyon – Hotel Dieu.
The hotel, located on Place de la Comédie, Bordeaux’s central square, is surrounded by the most refined shops and restaurants of the city that was voted as Europe’s top destination to visit for 2015 by European Best Destinations.
The historic 130-key building was built in 1776. In the following months it will undergo works to convert it from the current Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa into an IHG representative. Food and beverage at the hotel will be handled by the Gordon Ramsey Group as they enter the Bordeaux area. It will include the fine dining restaurant – Le Pressoir D’Argent, serving only local seasonal ingredients expertly matched with wines from the region. Furthermore, guests will have access to seven meeting rooms, an indoor pool (the Bain de Léa), fitness, spa, and hammam facilities.
“InterContinental® Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel will offer guests a luxury hotel stay in a sought-after location. This iconic brand is going from strength to strength in France and this new hotel will further enhance the momentum behind the brand’s growth in Europe. We’re delighted to be working with Financière Immobilière Bordelaise on this unique property and look forward to expanding our partnership,” said vice president of development Europe, IHG Philippe Bijaoui.
