- Feb 02, 2015
The George Kaiser Family Foundation has unveiled plans to renovate the historic Fox Hotel and the Universal Ford building located in Tulsa’s Brady Arts District. According to NewsOn6, the Kaiser Foundation intends to redevelop nearly 50,000 square feet of space into a modern mix of commercial and residential space.
Built in 1917, the Universal Ford building will undergo a $16 million renovation and will house a brewpub and a restaurant, as well as apartments and work spaces for artists, Fox23 reports. Also on Main Street, the 109-year-old E. L. Fox Hotel building will offer 30-plus apartment units and an Antoniette’s bakery on the ground floor.
Tulsa’s Brady Arts District is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods and is home to such cultural landmarks as Cain’s Ballroom and the Brady Theater, as well as a variety of museums, clubs and restaurants.
