Hilton Worldwide Furthers Expansion in Germany through Partnership with Tristar Hotel GmbH

Berlin, Germany—Hilton Worldwide is continuing the expansion of its Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Innbrands. The company announced an agreement with Tristar Hotel GmbH which will materialize into 10 hotels in Germany.

Hampton by Hilton Berlin City East at the city’s Mercedes Platz is a fantastic project with which to announce our partnership. The Mercedes Platz development is putting East Berlin firmly on the map as an entertainment destination and it is testament to this growing reputation of our brands that we will be playing a part,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide.
Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) will develop and own the first of the 10 hotels, the seven-story, 254-room Hampton by Hilton Berlin City East. Guests will benefit from all its signature features, including membership of the Hilton HHonors loyalty program. The hotel will be part of the Mercedes Platz, a complex developed by AEG opposite of the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Mercedes Platz, scheduled to open in 2018, will consist of numerous restaurants and bars, a 4,000-seat event hall and a state-of-the-art cinema.
The plans for the other nine hotels will be announced over the coming months, all to be positioned in urban centers across Germany under Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands. Management of the hotels will fall under Tristar Hotel GmbH, as per the terms of the agreement.
“Germany, and in particular Berlin, is fast becoming one of our strongest international markets. Since introducing Hampton by Hilton to the city in 2010, the brand has gone on to announce plans to locate its second largest property in the world here, in the shape of Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz. This property at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which hosts international sports and artists of the caliber of Taylor Swift and Madonna, is another stellar addition,” stated Phil Cordell, global head focused service brands.
