Keller, Texas—Developers PinPoint Commercial L.P. and Thrive Senior Living have completed Legacy at Bear Creek, a 78-unit assisted living and memory care facility in the affluent Fort Worth suburb of Keller. The 51,000-square-foot community is on a 6.8-acre site within Keller Town Center, a 340-acre planned development.
Legacy at Bear Creek includes a number of amenities unique to this kind of property, including technology stations featuring webcam computers allowing residents to remain in touch with family and friends, and individual suites that offer wireless care management and tele-medicine systems. Its landscaping includes detention ponds, outdoor seating areas, and walking trails secured within two enclosed courtyards.
Each memory care suite incorporates SimpleC Companion, a non-drug therapy used to promote memory retention. The system employs a touch-screen display that fosters an interactive environment to stimulate recognition and response time, and offer entertainment. In addition, the interior paint colors, flooring, lighting and other design elements have been modeled after successful trends in memory care treatment.
Cadence McShane Construction Co. built the property for the developers. “Both senior living and memory care facilities have experienced an increase in success nationwide due to market improvements and more efficient operations,” Cadence McShane vice president-housing and senior living David Tague tells MHN. “As operators focus on providing more affordable service options, they’re maintaining desirable occupancy rates which allow for financing to become easier to secure.”
Tague adds that Cadence McShane continues to be active in the industry, with several assisted living projects currently under way. “Although we’re focused on the South Central and Gulf States regions, we’ll provide for our clients wherever they need us to be.”
