Herman & Kittle Properties Inc. have taken the wraps off two new Indiana apartment communities. Ashford Park is a 209-unit apartment community in Columbus, Ind., one hour due south of Indianapolis and almost due west of Cincinnati. The Vue is a 248-unit apartment community near the Fountain Square area of downtown Indianapolis.

Ashford Park

Completed in 2019, Ashford Park features one-, two and three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 705 to 1,334 square feet. The community offers both market-rate and affordable apartments. Unit features include large walk-in closets, new appliances and patios or balconies. A pair of fitness centers are among the property’s amenities.

Ashford Park residents benefit from public transportation offered by Columbus Transit, as well as nearby employment opportunities at Columbus Cummins Engine Plant. The apartment community is also near shopping at Fair Oaks Mall.

A city of 47,000, Columbus is situated 22 miles east of one of Indiana’s biggest lures, Brown County State Park. The city maintains 23 parks, offering more than 1,000 acres of public lands, and also provides 23 miles of groomed trails within city limits.

The Vue

Featuring market-rate apartments aimed at growing numbers of renters by choice in downtown Indianapolis, The Vue’s 21 floorplans include studio, one- and two-bedroom units extending from 530 to 1,121 square feet in size. Apartment features and finishes include granite countertops, black appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, smart thermostats and patios or balconies, the latter reflecting the property’s name by offering dramatic views. A courtyard swimming pool leads the list of resident amenities.

Steps away is the Julia Carson Transit Center, providing access to all IndyGo bus routes. Interstate 65/70 is also nearby. Less than two blocks away is the $63 million Indianapolis Cultural Trail, a bicycle trail connecting the entire downtown core.

The adjacent Fountain Square district featuring boutique retail shops, varied dining, nightspots and a bowling center. Downtown Indianapolis’s nearby White River State Park stages concerts in the summer and other events throughout the year, and both the NBA’s Indiana Pacers and NFL’s Indianapolis Colts play home games nearby.

The property is currently leasing its last open apartments.

Earlier this month, Herman & Kittle unveiled a new affordable apartment community in Greenwood, Ind.
