Greystone has hired Quinn Barton as CIO of its commercial platform. In his newly created role, Barton will oversee the firm’s capital markets activities and capital deployment strategies. He will also be involved in designing investment and finance expansion plans.

Barton joins Greystone from Carmel Partners, where he served as managing partner. During his 11-year tenure, he oversaw debt investment origination, including B-pieces and distressed multifamily mortgages.

Prior to Carmel, he was a managing director at Banc of America Securities, with a focus on CMBS trading. Other previous positions were financial senior roles with Natixis, RBS Greenwich Capital Markets and JPMorgan Chase Securities, also involving CMBS deals. This expertise is especially important since Greystone recently acquired C-III Asset Management and its $20.7 billion loan servicing portfolio, thus expanding its CMBS capabilities.

Barton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Washington and Lee University and an MBA in accounting and finance from The George Washington University.
