- Nov 16, 2018

GFI Realty has selected Matthew Sparks as its newest senior managing director. In his new role, he will focus on expanding the firm’s multifamily investment sales activity across New York City.
Sparks has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience. During his tenure, he contributed to the transaction of assets worth approximately $1.5 billion. Prior to joining the company, he worked as a principal at Eastern Consolidated, with a focus on multifamily investment sales transactions, where he was involved in the sale of a Manhattan Valley portfolio.
Between 2010 and 2013, Sparks was a managing partner at ERG Property Advisors. From 1995 to 2010, he served as GFI Realty’s managing partner, specializing in market-rate, rent-controlled and rent-stabilized multifamily properties. Sparks holds a diploma in accounting and finance from SUNY Old Westbury and is a member of REBNY.
“Matthew is one of the city’s most well-established middle-market investment sales brokers, with an unparalleled understanding of every type of multifamily product and experience arranging deals in all five boroughs,” GFI Realty Services President Michael Weiser said in a prepared statement.
