Berlin, Germany– formart GmbH & Co. KG recently held the topping-out ceremony for its latest condominium project in the heart of Berlin.

Scheduled for completion in the fall of 2016, The Mile! is a modern residential community located on the historically significant Chausseestrasse in the city’s Berlin-Mitte area.

The project features 271 condominiums and approximately 7,800 square feet (730 square meters) of office and commercial space. The layouts of the new residential units range from 376 square feet (35 square meters) to 1,600 square feet (150 square meters).

According to formart COO Carsten Sellschopf, the diversity of the community’s floor plans is meant to appeal to a broad cross-section of buyers.

“By doing this we reflect the diverse population structure in Berlin-Mitte, from single person to young families to more mature individuals. What they all have in common is a desire for a high quality of urban life,” Sellschopf explained.

The project has also been designed to include a concierge service which will handle tasks such as shopping, cleaning and security.

Residents here will have easy access to an array of cultural amenities and a dynamic restaurant and retail scene. The property is also situated directly across from the new headquarters of the Federal Intelligence Service.

So far, more than 90 percent of the condominiums have already been sold. Besides owner-occupiers, the buyers at The Mile! are primarily German and international investors.

“The Berlin real estate market is experiencing a boom like no other city. We are therefore delighted that we are already realizing our second project in such a prestigious location,” Sellschopf added.

Last year, formart also developed Chaussee 121, a residential project with 91 state-of-the-art condominiums which are located very close to The Mile!
