First Communities Management Names New CEO and President

Atlanta—First Communities Management (FCM), an Atlanta-based third-party multifamily management company, has announced founder Rob Johnston will transition into the role of chairman of FCM. Mitch Harrison, the current chief operating officer, will become CEO and president.
Harrison joined FCM in 2004 and held numerous roles before being named chief operating officer in 2011. Harrison has been active in expanding FCM’s presence throughout the Sun Belt and Mid-Atlantic Regions. FCM manages properties across the region and its portfolio is diverse, with Class A and Class B properties in both suburban and urban locations and assets owned by both small and institutional owners. Harrison is a former chairman of the Atlanta Apartment Association and current board member. He is philanthropically active in the Atlanta community and currently sits on the board of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Johnston founded FCM in 1978 and now manages more than 30,000 units. Johnston also has held a variety of industry and community leadership roles. He founded the nation’s largest food drive in partnership with the Atlanta Apartment Association and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
