Excel Filters Inc. has selected Expo Business Park in Southeast Austin as the site of its new satellite manufacturing facility.

Trammell Crow Co. will develop the 57,600-square foot, Class A building, dubbed Expo 12. Construction is under way and is scheduled for completion in May 2016.

Both TCC and Excel Filters were represented in the transaction by Mark Emerick, John Barksdale, Ace Schlameus, and Darryl Dadon of CBRE’s Austin office.

“Excel Filters chose Austin for expansion, in part due to the high quality of life the city offers for our employees and their families, as well as the business-friendly policies that will enable us to continue our rapid growth in North America and globally, said Joe Kovach the company’s president, in a statement. “After a diligent search process, we consider Expo Business Park to have the best location and quality facility in Austin to support our growth.”

Expo 12 is part of Expo Business Park’s second phase, which consists of four buildings. Excel’s facility will feature 28-foot clear heights, an energy-efficient roof with an R-value of 21, 13 dock-high doors, expansive truck courts, and 40-foot by 40-foot column spacing.

Located on 37 acres at 6231 E. Stassney Lane in the Triple Freeport Zone, Expo Business Park is near a variety of restaurants, entertainment venues and hotels. Austin Bergstrom International Airport and Downtown Austin are also nearby.
