Brickell City Centre

Italian fashion house Valentino and Swiss watch and jewelry designer Chopard are the first in a series of upcoming retail announcements for Brickell City Centre.

Swire Properties and retail co-developers Whitman Family Development and Simon Property Group announced that the two luxury retailers are set to open in the $1.05 billion mixed-use development’s 500,000 square-foot shopping center in fall 2016.

Work on the 5.4 million-square-foot Brickell City Centre started in June 2012. In addition to the shopping area, the project’s first phase includes two residential towers, a hotel, wellness center, serviced apartments, one office building and 3,100 parking spaces. The second phase will include another office tower and has a completion date set for 2018.

The two stores will be located on the street-accessible first floor of the shopping center, next to other luxury retailers. Premium and contemporary retailers will be predominant on the second and third floors, alongside beauty, home decor, jewelry, apparel and other retailers. The project currently has about 450,000 square feet of retail space in advance negotiations and the development team delineated a list of prospective tenants, the names of which are yet to be announced officially. These include a NYC-based women’s apparel retailer, an American footwear designer, an international yoga and fitness apparel chain and a Colombian swimwear brand.
