San Francisco—Equity Residential is developing Azure at Mission Bay, a 16-story, for-lease, residential development in San Francisco that will contain 273 residences that feature three public parks on the sides of the property.

“Mission Bay is one of the only master planned communities in San Francisco. As such, it has unparalleled parks and open spaces and is local to abundant amenities, superior transportation options and world-class entertainment venues including AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, as well as the recently announced new arena and home for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors,” Jim Kelly, Equity Residential’s first vice president of development, tells MHN. “In terms of architecture, Azure at Mission Bay features a dual-height design that provides amazing 360 views yet integrates well with its surroundings, and enhances street-level activity with its two-door walk-up residences.”

Located at 690 Long Bridge St., and adjacent to Mission Creek Park, the 396,200-square-foot development is in close proximity to an ever-expanding base of creative and technology driven businesses.

“Equity Residential focuses on the acquisition, development and management of high-quality apartment properties in top U.S. growth markets, and San Francisco’s Mission Bay surely applies,” Kelly says. “Understanding the development constraints elsewhere in the City and knowing the scope of what was going to be built here, Mission Bay was definitely a must for us.”

When completed, the development will offer 273 apartments comprised of 164 one-bedroom units and 109 two-bedroom units.

Azure at Mission Bay will feature a complete and strategic mix of amenities including a business lounge, community room, demonstration kitchen, landscaped courtyard, fitness center, bicycle repair rom, a pet wash, fire pit and more.

The property will offer expansive 360-degree views. Additionally, it will have open spaces on three sides of the project.

“It’s one of those signature developments that perfectly aligns with our company’s philosophy: It features stunning high-density design in one of the world’s highest-barrier to entry markets,” Kelly says. “We consider Azure at Mission Bay a forever asset.”

Nibbi Brothers General Contractors are handling construction. The development team also includes the firm of HKS Architects, interior architect NC2 Studio, and landscape architect Cliff Lowe Associates.

Residents can expect to move into Azure at Mission Bay in Spring 2015.
