Dayton Children’s Hospital Grows in Springboro
- Jul 09, 2015
On Tuesday, July 7, Dayton Children’s Hospital announced plans for a $47.5 million expansion of its Springboro Outpatient Care Center and Urgent Care.
Dayton Children’s will build a 115,100-square-foot ambulatory destination center on the 11-acre Springboro campus. It will consist of a medical office building for pediatric specialists and primary care physicians, a 16-room pediatric emergency department, and an outpatient surgery center with four operating rooms.
The project will be developed in phases over the next two years. The medical office building will open a year from now, followed by the emergency department six months later and the surgery center in 2017.
According to Deborah Feldman, president & CEO of Dayton Children’s, the expansion is part of Destination 2020, the hospital’s $140 million campus renewal project. Scheduled for completion in 2017, the initiative calls for construction of a 260,000-square-foot, eight-story patient care tower, central utility plant and data center.
Synergy Building Systems will construct the Springboro expansion project from designs by Champlin Architecture, a local firm. Cindy Burger, a vice president at Dayton Children’s, will oversee the project for the hospital.
