CIM Group Reaches Construction Milestone in DTLA

CIM Group topped out 888 S. Hope, a 34-story apartment high-rise with 6,000 square feet ground floor retail space and a public pocket park in downtown Los Angeles. Situated at the corner of 9th Street and Hope, the property is expected to be complete by mid-2018.

The 525-unit apartment tower will provide contemporary residences varying in size and layout, and will feature many large communal gathering spots. The building’s eight floor provides access to a 30,000-square-foot rooftop deck atop the parking structure, designed with an outdoor pool, lounge, garden and other green spaces and recreation areas. Additionally, the 34th floor of the building will include a lounge and a large outdoor terrace.

The building is close to a seven-story, 650-stall parking structure that includes a 5,000-square-foot Petco. Moreover, 888 S. Hope is in the heart of the well-known South Park district, a walkable downtown neighborhood that offers many shopping, dining and entertainment options, including the Ralphs supermarket and other retailers across the street.

CIM has developed a variety of residential and retail projects. This includes the Flower Street Lofts condominiums, the first condominiums that were developed under the city’s adaptive reuse ordinance, followed by the adaptive conversion of the former Gas Co. office buildings into the Gas Co. Lofts apartments, and Sky Lofts at 801 S. Grand. Also, the company expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of two mixed-used buildings in Chicago, located in Wicker Park and along N. Milwaukee Avenue.
