New York—Capital One announced that it has hired Evan Williams as senior vice president of originations. In his new role, Williams will focus on affordable housing properties, originating Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac Targeted Affordable Housing, and FHA loans nationally.

Prior to joining Capital One, Williams served Prudential Mortgage Capital Co. for seven years, originating multifamily financing through the agency loan programs. He previously worked as vice president of Hunt Mortgage Group, formerly Centerline Capital Group.

He is based in New York and will report to Finance Executive Vice President Jeff Lee.

“Evan’s depth of experience in the affordable housing space will be a real asset for the group and we’re excited to welcome him to our team,” said Lee in prepared remarks. “More and more clients expect access to a diverse range of products for affordable housing—including balance sheet and agency financing.”
