In January, Assurex Health announced its decision to remain in Ohio, despite offers to move from five other states. At the same time, the precision medicine company revealed its plans to build a 60,000-square-foot headquarters and clinical laboratory in Mason. Now, Assurex has selected a site: Innovation Way, a 30-acre mixed-use development in Mason’s Oak Park District.

The new facility will be designed to promote employee wellness and to nurture a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture at the company, which has tripled in size to nearly 300 employees during the past three years.

DTZ’s Tenant Advisory Group will manage the design and development of the new complex. Its first task is to find an architect. In a statement, Assurex said that it expects to select a firm by June 1, and to have initial drawings by July 1. The facility’s design will allow for an additional 30,000-square-foot expansion.

According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, the project will cost an estimated $15 million. Assurex hopes to finish it in 2016.
