$2.8M Renovation of Fairfax’s WillowWood Plaza Nears Completion
- Apr 11, 2014
The four-year renovation of the WillowWood Plaza is nearing its end. Liberty Property Trust will finish the $2.8 million project this spring and will deliver an updated Class A office park with Energy Star certification.
WillowWood Plaza is the largest office park in the city of Fairfax. The four-building complex, totaling 525,000 square feet, includes two buildings constructed in 1988 – Building 1 at 10300 Eaton Place and Building 2 at 10306 Eaton Place – and two more added in 1999 – Building 3 at 10304 Eaton Place and Building 4 at 10302 Eaton Place.
According to a press release, the complex is currently 75 percent occupied. Colliers Northern Virginia has been retained to represent WillowWood Plaza and find new tenants.
Liberty Property Trust acquired the award-winning WillowWood Plaza in 2006. All four buildings have received upgrades to their exterior façades, but the renovation project mostly focuses on the two older ones. Buildings 1 and 2 now feature enhanced entryways, atriums and elevator cabs, as well as new ceilings and lighting. In 2013, both received Energy Star certification; they are now waiting for new furniture and flat screen TVs.
The parking lot was also completely renovated, and the landscaping was upgraded. Liberty Property Trust also plans to upgrade the on-site deli and the Fitness Center located in Building 2.
“This complex is the largest in Fairfax City and one of the largest in the county – and offers some of the best office space available in both,” said Mike Jones, vice president & city manager, in a statement for the press. “Our objective with this capital investment is to maintain the assets’ high quality and provide productive and energy-efficient spaces with on-site amenities for many, many years to come.”
