Denver—Northstar Commercial Partners has acquired 25.6 acres of land in Aurora, Colo. and plans to create on the parcel a supportive community for U.S. veterans in the Denver metro area. The Denver Metro Veterans Project is a pioneering real estate development aiming to empower American veterans to attain their residential, employment and health goals.
Planned for the site is a mixed-use development that will include multifamily living, health care, retail space and “other unique opportunities,” according to Northstar Commercial.
“In recent years, many wonderful public and private advancements have been made in serving our veteran population, but the truth is the aggregate outcomes have still fallen short,” Matt Runyon, both a Northstar Project Manager and an Army veteran, said in prepared remarks.
“Our veterans deserve better and we at Northstar, along with many of our partners, believe that the private sector is part of the missing piece . . . We’re confident that the real opportunity here is for Northstar to bring efficiency to the market, leveraging private sector financial and real estate acumen to empower the work of great organizations.”
Every member of the Northstar Commercial Partners team has worked collaboratively to forge a visionary model, and the team has endeavored to provide motive and opportunity for the community to take part in supporting and reintegrating Denver-area veterans, Runyon said.

Northstar Commercial Partners paid nearly $7.8 million for the parcel at the intersection of Colfax and Sable in Aurora. “This is a small way that we can help serve those who have served our communities and country so much,” Watson concluded.
