Chicago—The Habitat Company has been awarded the property management contract for 1000 South Clark, a new 469-unit luxury apartment tower in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood.

The building, which broke ground in the summer of 2014, is slated for delivery in early 2016.

“The property draws interest from a wide audience that enjoys proximity to great shopping and entertainment and values the ability/choice to hop on a train or expressway, walk to work or ride their bikes,” Sheila Byrne, The Habitat Company’s executive vice president of property management, told MHN. “Residents have access to city favorites like the Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium and the Field Museum, and all the lakefront has to offer.”

The 29-story apartment tower will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom residences. Additionally, the community will feature six three-bedroom rental townhomes measuring 3,173 square feet, which will include a two-car garage. Units feature luxury finishes including high ceilings, panoramic lake and city views, custom kitchen cabinetry and Quartz countertops, stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, custom bathroom vanities with tile bath and shower surrounds, plank flooring, elegant interior lighting and full-size washers and dryers.

There is also 43,000 square feet of amenity space, including an enclosed outdoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a rooftop running track, and basketball and racquetball courts.

“Resident-chefs will have access to a 20,000-square-foot outdoor terrace with grilling stations and a Chef’s demonstration kitchen,” Byrne said. “There’s a game room and billiards lounge, a virtual golf simulator and putting area, five separate lounge areas, including a penthouse roof deck, library lounge and wine bar, and a neighborhood bar room with customizable beer taps.”

Other amenities include a news room and media lounge, a board room and business center, an automated package retrieval system and on-site valet dry cleaning.

The community will also offer residents the latest in pet amenities with a landscaped outdoor dog park, and provide full-service pet care and a boarding facility through a partnership with Bark on Clark.

“At Habitat, we pride ourselves in a commitment to excellence. And 1000 S. Clark is nothing short of excellent,” Byrne said. “The seemingly endless list of amenities and high-end finishes at this community will allow us to provide residents with the level of service they have come to expect from The Habitat Company.”

With a walkscore of 93, a transit score of 100 and a bike score of 88, nothing is far from reach.
