New York–Enterprise Community Partners Inc., a provider of development capital for the creation of affordable housing and the rebuilding of communities, has  chosen Magnusson Architecture and Planning PC to serve as an Enterprise Green Communities Technical Assistance Provider.

Magnusson will join a long list of experts comprising the Enterprise Green Communities Technical Assistance Provider Network. The network offers developers of Enterprise Community Partners-financed projects guidance from a wide range of specialists to successfully facilitate the building of modern, sustainable affordable housing. The developers have access to technical assistance in such categories as energy services, healthy living environment and design–and that is where Magnusson’s MAP Green division comes in.

“MAP Green specializes in green consulting services for building design, green retrofit/rehabilitation and sustainable neighborhood planning,” Magnus Magnusson, managing principal of the architectural firm, noted in a prepared statement. “The MAP Green mission is to help clients achieve truly sustainable results at any scale, ranging from an entire neighborhood to an individual building to interior spaces and building retrofits.” In its role as a Technical Assistance Provider, MAP Green will assist Enterprise developers with such issues as integrated design and green design review of construction documents.

MAP Green will have no shortage of clients. Enterprise Community Partners introduced the next generation of the five-year-old Enterprise Green Communities division in October 2009 with the announcement of a $4 billion, five-year commitment to sustainable affordable housing and calling for a national pledge to green all new and existing affordable housing properties.
