Madox to Open Soon in Historic Jersey City Neighborhood

Jersey City, N.J.—Madox, an environmentally friendly apartment community in Jersey City’s historic Paulus Hook enclave, will welcome its first residents in early November. The announcement was made recently by Fields Development Group, developer of the upscale rental property at 198 Van Vorst St.

Prospective renters are being added to a priority wait list for Madox, and will be given the opportunity to enjoy guided VIP “Hard Hat” tours of the soon-to-be-completed building. During the tours, they will be able to glimpse the high-end apartment homes, luxury amenities and landscaped outdoor spaces that set Madox apart from other properties dotting the New York City-area rental market, Fields Development Group officials report.

The seven-story rental property, the first LEED-certified building in this Hudson County city, features 131 luxury apartment homes at a site affording awe-inspiring views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline.

The selection of homes will include studio, one- and two-bedroom residences offering from 480 to 1,312 square feet of luxury living space. The addition of dens in some of the one- and two-bedroom floor plans will benefit couples planning to start families, or single professionals hoping to add roommates, enabling them to avoid having to upgrade to larger-sized residences.

Each apartment home will feature custom hardwood floors, nine-foot ceilings, in-home washers and dryers and master bathrooms with custom vanities and tile. Stainless steel appliances, 42-inch cabinetry, gas cooking, Caesarstone countertops, tile floor and backsplash and designer lighting and finishes will be among the upscale touches found in the homes’ gourmet kitchens.

The atmosphere at Madox promises to be both close-knit and family-friendly. Abundant outdoor space featuring a landscaped courtyard, children’s play area, café seating and benches, roof deck with hammocks, natural-gas-fired barbecue, fire pit and sunbathing lounges will foster a community-focused lifestyle. Residents will also benefit from bicycle storage and valet garage parking.

The construction of Madox was in accordance with U.S. Green Building Council guidelines for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings incorporating responsible site development, energy-efficient design and sustainable materials to create environmentally sensitive urban living environments.

Madox incorporates a PV Solar Array and roof vegetation, electric car-charging stations, and systems to reduce water consumption by more than 45 percent and energy consumption by 14 percent. By contract, the building will provide 35 percent of its electricity from renewable sources for at least the first two years.
