    The new Las Vegas Arena project headed by a partnership between AEG and MGM Resorts International has its first “Founding Partner”. The development team on the project that aims to bolster the amount of high-profile events that take place in Las Vegas has a new name joining. Schneider Electric is a global specialist in energy management, and has entered a formal, multi-year agreement with the Las Vegas Arena Company. The contract calls for the company to design, install and operate numerous tech systems throughout the arena.

    This past summer, a number of dormant master-planned communities saw new life, as the city’s resurgence galvanized developer interest in the Las Vegas market once again. Skye Canyon has announced that two home builders have acquired land in the master-planned community, and are now set to carry out the first phase of the project. According to Olympia Companies, the two builders will take over a combined total of 80 acres of land. Skye Canyon is the first large-scale residential development project to break ground in the valley since the recession.

  • Republic Services Starts 110,000-SF Expansion at North Las Vegas Recycling Plant

    Republic Silver State Disposal, Inc. a subsidiary of Republic Services, Inc. recently started construction on a brand new recycling facility in North Las Vegas. Once completed, the new facility will effectively double the current residential recycling capacity in southern Nevada. Advanced recycling tehnologies will be employed at the building, which will be added to an existing facility in the Southern Nevada Recycling Complex. By increasing the capacity, the SNRC is set to become the largest residential recycling complex in the country.
