Under construction since February 2016, One Bennett Park will include both condominiums and rental apartments. The building’s 69 condo units will be on floors 41 through 66, with a choice of two-, three- and four-bedroom units averaging 3,200 square feet. The 279 rental units will be on the tower’s lower floors.
Condo owners will have access to an amenity floor on level 41, as well as their own private lobby on the lower level with a motor court and 24/7 valet parking. The for-sale units are clearly aimed at the upper reaches of the market: Related Midwest, the developer, is currently offering condos priced from $2 million to as much as $15 million.
The lead architect of the property is Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA), which is known for highrise properties in New York. “One Bennett Park meets the skyline with asymmetrical composition, juxtaposing a rectangular volume punctuated by four-story masonry piers and a square pavilion with notched corners and colossal 30-foot-tall windows,” said Daniel Lobitz, partner at RAMSA. “These elements complement Chicago’s illustrious forebears, like the iconic Wrigley Building and Tribune Tower.”
One Bennett Park’s lead landscape designer is Michael Van Valkenburgh, who is doing a ground-level park for the development. He is also known for designing Maggie Daley Park and the 606 linear park in Chicago.
