Athens, Ga.—For the first time in years, The University of Georgia will be getting a new student housing community. Chance Partners LLC announced that it would be developing Eclipse, a 32-unit, 128-bedroom community in Athens, Ga. The community will be located near the historic Arch on the university campus.

“Nothing like Eclipse on Broad currently exists in the Athens market,” Judd Bobilin, president and CEO of Chance Partners, tells MHN.

The apartments in the community will feature private bathrooms for every bedrooms; gourmet kitchens with granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances; full-size washers and dryers; surround sound; and designer lighting. All units will include a 42” flat-screen television in the living room.

“It is unique with roll open doors at both retail and in select units, grand windows, and brick walls and metal accents on the unit interiors,“ Bobilin says. “Instead of a collection of homogenous units that look the same from one to the next, Eclipse’s units are designed to be largely unique and offer their residents a sense of space and design that reflects their personal style.”

Amenities also include on-site parking, a residents-only clubroom, a park with water and fire features and a fitness center.

The outside of Eclipse, designed by architectural firm Pucciano & English, was also devised to appeal to younger renters.

“From a design perspective, our intent was to make Eclipse look and feel as though the building has always existed, but incorporate the high-tech features residents, today, demand,” Bobilin says.

Eclipse is expected to be completed in July 2013.
