Bernstein Management Announces New Leadership for 2012

Bernstein Management Corporation, a real estate management and investment firm, announced several executive level promotions.

Washington, D.C.—Bernstein Management Corporation, a real estate management and investment firm, announced several executive level promotions. The company has advanced the following individuals to leadership roles: Joshua Bernstein, CEO; Robert Sandler, president; Charles Hathway, executive vice president and general counsel; Susan Haas, senior vice president for residential; Katherine Porter Page, senior vice president for commercial; Austin Herndon, vice president, leasing; and Frederic Underwood, director, acquisitions.

According to Bernstein Management officials, these promotions follow several years of significant growth at the company, which is comprised of 74 properties in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, including 4,900 apartments and over 3.2 million square feet of commercial real estate.  The Bernstein Management portfolio also includes investment affiliates Columbia Realty Venture, Rock Creek Realty, Rock Creek Opportunity Fund and Granite Property LLC.

The company has been involved in several investments of note recently, including a joint venture with Forest City Enterprises in 1,341 apartments in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Arlington; The 280 unit Residences at King Firm; 3901 N Fairfax, a 190,000 square foot class A office building development in Ballston, developed with Crimson Partners; and City Market at O, a one million square foot apartment, retail and hotel development located in downtown Washington, D.C., and developed in partnership with Roadside Development.
