University of North Florida, Habitat for Humanity Join to Build Homes in Historic New Town
The University of North Florida joined with Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville to build a home in the historic New Town neighborhood. Building of the ranch-style model home at 1819 West 5th Street was supervised by UNF’s College of Computing, Engineering and Construction students.
San Marco Neighbors Welcome $50M Publix Mixed-Use Development
Last Thursday San Marco residents met with developers Whitehall Realty LP, Regency Centers Corp. and St. Joe Co. in a town hall meeting where updated plans for the East San Marco Publix development were presented to the public.
Jacksonville Landing Redevelopment Plan Includes Adding Residential Units
Toney Sleiman, president and CEO of Sleiman Enterprises, which owns the Landing, stated that he plans to add residential units as the ownership considers renovating the facility. They are already making small steps toward the goal, first of all studying the property and determining a viable number of units and unit with the help of a consultant. They also ordered a parking study and informed that results should be available this month, according to the Jax Daily Record.
