  • Adaptive Reuse of the FLATS at Ponce City Market Nearing Completion

    The adaptive reuse project including historic renovations of the formally named Sears, Roebuck & Company building is nearing completion. The landmark’s uppermost seven floors at the east and west wings were affected mostly, creating the new FLATS at Ponce City Market. Stevens & Wilkinson was in charge of the new design – the company is a full-service commercial architecture, engineering and interior design firm based in Atlanta and Columbia, S.C., New York-based Fogarty Finger contributed to the interior design.

  • Loehmann’s Plaza to be Redeveloped and Renamed

    Loehmann’s Plaza gets a facelift and a new name soon with site works beginning in June and continuing through January 2015. The redeveloped retail facility at the corner of North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads in Atlanta will be called Brighten Park. Regency Centers Corporation will redevelop the property and has already secured a lease with The Fresh Market grocery.

    A full story will fill in at 55 Allen Plaza as Connecture Inc. signs an 11-year lease of 28,299 square feet of office space in the building that has reached an occupancy rate of 93 percent. Lincoln Property Company Southeast’s Tony Bartlett and Andy Sumlin of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord and Carla Williams and Jeff Samaras of Cushman & Wakefield spoke for the tenant in the transaction.

  • Cobb County Approves Home of the Braves

    The Cobb County Commission gave green light to the Atlanta Braves stadium signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the team at its meeting on Tuesday, 26 November. The arena is only the jewel in the crown as it will be surrounded by a mixed use development including between 700,000 and 1 million square feet retail, restaurant, residential, hotel and office space – all privately funded 100 percent by the Braves, and other private partners.
